The five-day capacity building training for Community Based Education (CBE) teachers of RRSWO, which aimed at enhancing the capacity of the teachers which was conducted from April 20 to 29 in two rounds (the first round for male teachers and the second round for female teachers), concluded on April 29 with the presence of Serajuddin Ghafary, the Executive Director of RRSWO along with his accompanying team from main office, Mr. Mohammad Jawad Afzali, Head of UNICEF in Daikundi province, Mr. Qari Enayatullah Sahar, Provincial Education Directorate of Daikundi province, Mr. Ezatullah Nabil, Provincial Coordinator of RRSWO, field colleagues, and representatives of partner organizations. In this program, about 411 teachers from all Districts of Daikundi province and one District of Helmand province, which was under the coverage of RRSWO, participated and improved their capacities.
During the closing ceremony, the Executive Director of RRSWO expressed gratitude for the continuous support of officials and people of Daikundi and the efforts of RRSWO teachers in disseminating knowledge. He promised that there would be no hesitation in any effort towards the continuity of the program and that they would strive for greater facilitation for both teachers and students. Future capacity-building programs will also be held according to the plan and effectiveness of this program.
The executive director, who was present in Daikundi province during this program and monitored all teacher capacity-building activities until the end of the program, asked the teachers to share their opinions and suggestions with him. During this visit the demand of all people and teachers, on behalf of their communities, was the continuation of RRSWO’s activities in their areas.
Mohammad Jawad Afzali, the head of UNICEF, who spoke at the closing ceremony of the teacher capacity-building program, considered the capacity-building program very important and vital. He appreciated the efforts of RRSWO’s staff in Daikundi province and described the effectiveness of this program as unprecedented.
Mr. Afzali emphasized to the teachers to implement the knowledge, experiences, and materials they learned during this period practically in their work field and to make more efforts.
Also, during this event, Qari Enayatullah Sahar, the Education Director in Daikundi province, welcomed the guests and RRSWO teachers. He considered the capacity-building program as a vital program and asked the participants to utilize the newly acquired knowledge to address the gaps and challenges in their fields and, if possible, collaborate with public school teachers.
RRSWO, with the financial assistance of UNICEF, has supported unprecedented support from the people by establishing 354 CBE classes in Daikundi province and covering more than nine thousand students during its over two-year operation.
